Summary 0005300: openssl command doesn't support elliptic curve algorithms
Description [ I tried to contact the maintainer directly, but kept getting an erroneous captcha error ]

Hi,

Can you tell me what options were enabled for the build of openssl (CSWopenssl-utils)? I'm specifically looking for 'elliptic curve' algorithms being enabled because the native Sol10/Sol11 builds do not enable these types of algorithms, yet these algorithms are becoming more commonly used. One way to determine whether the 'elliptic curve' algorithms are enabled is to look for the 'ec' and 'ecparam' commands in the output of 'openssl help'.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Mark

Our Openssl package does support ec.
For what it's worth oracle did or it going to add ec in the next patches.

Don't have a full patched Solaris atm to check

Thank you! And apologies for using Bug Tracker for communications. I tried a couple of browsers in 'Contact Maintainer' option, but both led to erroneous mention of Captcha, which wasn't present.

Thanks!
