I double-checked and the installation works for me on a Solaris 10 full zone and the package prototype also looks good:

f none /opt/csw/libexec/sparcv9/slapd 0755 root bin
s none /opt/csw/sbin/sparcv9/slapacl=../../libexec/sparcv9/slapd

Do you have some exotic directory inheritances or links in your zone configuration?

Not that I configured. I simply walked through installing, as indicated and does not install clean

Please post "mount -v" from the non-global zone and "zonecfg -z <zone> export" from the global zone.

This is really strange. Do all the path components for /opt/csw/sbin/sparcv9 exist and are all accessible?

I tried creating directories which didn't exist and tried linking some paths, but then when I ran another package install, it undid what I changed and did things it's own way. I can try removing all the packages and installing them again if you think it may help. Or I can try again from a fresh OS install. (I just ran a clean Initial Solaris 10 install onto the second disk drive, just in case).

Please be as specific as possible: What commands did you run? After which commands it was undone? Paste the log from the shell.

The transcript I have is over 1300 lines. Can that be pasted, or do I need to email it, or is there an attach option I'm missing?

There is an "upload file" available in this bug tracker. Just look in the middle section of this page.

This seems to be fixed in 3.5.19,REV=2016.05.10 which I have rolled out and no problems anymore.
