Hello,

Please forgive my tendency to poke bears with a sticks, but is a bug that was reported 2 months ago still a new bug? :)

I was wondering if this has been looked at. I need pam_winbind.so.1 to be available in samba_wb so I can do some testing of the package within my environment.

I\'m trying to make a business case in my organisation that we should be moving our Solaris servers from sunfreeware.com to blastwave.org software as it\'s updated more frequently and has a working pre-compiled version of samba that is Active Directory aware (required by my organisation).

Not having pam_winbind.so.1 in the package makes this goal unachievable (and me without a leg to stand on when pitching blastwave

Thanks in advance,

Stewart

I\'m not sure how the workflow here functions. This doesn\'t appear to auto-assign a bug to a default assignee, so the bug still hasn\'t been assigned to anyone.

idontknow:

The samba_wb package in the stable branch(3.0.22) is still packaged properly.

phdonnelly:

Yes, I\'ve been using that too. But I was also looking at testing the unstable branch as well.

In some cases we\'ll need the new features/bugfixes provided by the Samba 3.0.23 code base, not to mention the fact that some boxes (due to other required packages) will require to be on the unstable code base.

Regards,

Stewart

Fredrik Lundholm, the existing maintainer of samba, has changed jobs and has stopped building the CSW samba packages. William Bonnet has offered to take over the maintenance of samba and should have package towards the end of the month. If you need to contact him you email to blastwave.org with username wbonnet.
