Summary: 0000117: running xcdroast causes kde 3.0 on S9 to drop back to login screen!
Description: Package installed on S8x86 server, remote display to S9x86 box.
Running xcdrost kills kde session back to login screen...

You said that remote display to S9 box kills Xserver. What about when you locally run it on the S9 box?

Applies when running locally on the S9 box as well.
gtk/kde issuse?

Install all pathes for the X system on Solaris 9.
This is a well known bug in Solaris 9 FCS
