Summary | 0002929: screen drops characters when pasteing in text into a session | ||||||
Description |
I select a pile of text in another xterm or similar. I goto an xterm or dtterm ( whatever ) with screen running in it and then paste the text into that screen session. The screen session beeps wildly and drops data. With regular vi I can paste in some text into a file and get a report that says \"samba_3.2.0_install.log\" [New file] 593 lines, 38259 characters If I try this with a screen session, I get piles of beeps and flashes and this : \"install.log\" [New file] 334 lines, 22332 characters The result is that the exact same text data pasted into a simple xterm works while screen drops data : $ wc -l install.log 334 install.log $ wc -l samba_3.2.0_install.log 593 samba_3.2.0_install.log |
