Summary 0001811: install of CSWsmartmontools modifies /etc/rc3.d
Description Let\'s look at the two directories affected first :

# ls -lad /etc/rc3.d /opt/csw/share/man/man1m
drwxrwxr-x 2 root sys 512 Sep 20 01:29 /etc/rc3.d
drwxr-xr-x 2 root other 512 Sep 20 12:00 /opt/csw/share/man/man1m
#

Now let\'s install the package :

# pkgadd -d ./smartmontools-5.36,REV\\=2006.09.11-SunOS5.8-sparc-CSW.pkg all

Processing package instance <CSWsmartmontools> from </export/home/dclarke/smartmontools-5.36,REV=2006.09.11-SunOS5.8-sparc-CSW.pkg>

/opt/csw/share/man/man1m/smartd.1m
/opt/csw/share/man/man4/smartd.conf.4
[ verifying class <none> ]

Installation of <CSWsmartmontools> was successful.

Now we go look at those two directories :

# ls -lad /etc/rc3.d /opt/csw/share/man/man1m
drwxr-xr-x 2 root sys 512 Sep 20 12:02 /etc/rc3.d
drwxr-xr-x 2 root bin 512 Sep 20 12:02 /opt/csw/share/man/man1m
#

While the change to /opt/csw/share/man/man1m is minor the modification of /etc/rc3.d seems to be wrong.
